1.8. Art is the Quest of the Soul

A writer may often ponder over–‘why should she write? The answer may come, she has to; because when ideas and thoughts need expressions they communicate with her through her mind and she may feel that it’s her responsibility to put them down on paper, not only that but to move ahead and also share them with people. Wonderfully she may find solace in doing the same.’

‘The extraordinary art constantly takes a position, knowing or unconscious. It cultivates that substance, and in this manner, attests the conceivable outcomes of the spirit, what the old Greeks called synderesis, sparkle of conscience, small voice. The Egyptians knew it to be the ba. The procedure of such assertion completely dismissing ruthlessness, is nature carrying on driving forces that have turned out to be mindful. We have given to nature this choice, in ourselves. Due to its exceptionally certifiable objective, past the logical inconsistencies which it has attempted to surmount, it is nature, yet it is likewise something different other than nature. It holds in its mind a thought that rises above the injustice of advancement and insignificant survival, of which it is obviously a result.’[1]

Art, be it any form, takes the seeker to another dimension of understanding, where he expresses himself and in turn gives his unique creation to the world. In the book ‘I Am Malala’, the frustrated statement of a terror struck man was that we are not born just to breathe.
