This page describes Jaya’s moksha (emancipation) which is the sixth part of chapter XIII of the English translation of the Jain Ramayana, contained within the “Trishashti Shalaka Purusha Caritra”: a massive Jain narrative relgious text composed by Hemacandra in the 12th century. This Jain Ramayana contains the biographies of Rama, Lakshmana, Ravana, Naminatha, Harishena-cakravartin and Jaya-cakravartin: all included in the list of 63 illustrious beings or worthy persons.

Part 6: Jaya’s mokṣa (emancipation)

After he had completed his life of three thousand years and had kept the vow, omniscience having appeared at the destruction of the destructive karmas, Jaya attained emancipation, an abode of imperishable bliss.

May the six: Rāma, Lakṣmaṇa, Daśānana, the Tīrthakṛt Nami, the Cakrabhṛt Hariṣeṇa, and the Cakrabhṛt Jaya, who have been described in the preceding, give pleasure to your ears.
