मनोज्ञामनोज्ञेन्द्रियविषयरागद्वेषवर्जनानि पञ्च ॥ ७.८ ॥

manojñāmanojñendriyaviṣayarāgadveṣavarjanāni pañca || 7.8 ||

Giving up attachment (rāga) and aversion (dveṣa) for agreeable (manojña) and disagreeable (amanojña) objects of the five senses constitutes five observances (bhāvanā) for the vow of non-attachment (aparigraha or ākiṃcanya). (8)

Hindi Anvayarth:

अन्वयार्थ: [मनोज्ञामनोज्ञेन्द्रियविषयरागद्वेषवर्जनानि] स्पर्शन आदि पाँचों इन्द्रियों के इष्ट-अनिष्ट विषयों के प्रति राग-द्वेष का त्याग करना [पश्च] सो पाँच परिग्रहत्यागवत की भावनायें हैं।

Anvayartha: [manojnamanojnendriyavishayaragadveshavarjanani] sparshana adi pamcom indriyom ke ishta-anishta vishayom ke prati raga-dvesha ka tyaga karana [pashca] so pamca parigrahatyagavata ki bhavanayem haim |
