Verse 4.41 - The minimum lifetime of the stellar beings (jyotiṣka-deva)

Sanskrit text, Unicode transliteration and English translation of Tattvartha sūtra 4.41:

तदष्टभागोऽपरा ॥ ४.४१ ॥

tadaṣṭabhāgo'parā || 4.41 ||

The minimum lifetime of the stellar (jyotiṣka) deva is one-eighth of their maximum lifetime. (41)

अन्वयार्थ: ज्योतिषी देवों की जघन्य आयु एक पल्योपम के आठवें भाग

Anvayartha: jyotishi devom ki jaghanya ayu eka palyopama ke athavem bhaga

One-eighth of a palyopama is the minimum lifetime of the stellar (jyotiṣka) deva.
