न देवाः ॥ २.५१ ॥

na devāḥ || 2.51 ||

The celestial beings (deva) are not neuter-sex (napuṃsaka). (51)

Hindi Anvayarth:

अन्वयार्थ: [देवाः] देव [न] नपुंसक नहीं होते, अर्थात् देवों के पुरुषलिंग और देवियों के स्त्रीलिंग होता है।

Anvayartha: [devah] deva [na] napumsaka nahim hote, arthat devom ke purushalimga aura deviyom ke strilimga hota hai |

Explanation in English from Ācārya Pūjyapāda’s Sarvārthasiddhi:

The celestial beings (deva) enjoy rare pleasures appertaining to the two sexes, male and female, on account of the rise of auspicious (śubha) name-karma (nāmakarma). Hence, there is no neuter-sex (napuṃsaka) among them.
