द्विविधानि ॥ २.१६ ॥
dvividhāni || 2.16 ||
Each sense (indriya) is of two kinds. (16)
Hindi Anvayarth:
अन्वयार्थ: सब इन्द्रियाँ [द्विविधानि] द्रव्येन्द्रिय और भावेन्द्रिय के भेद से दो प्रकार की हैं।
Anvayartha: saba indriyam [dvividhani] dravyendriya aura bhavendriya ke bheda se do prakara ki haim |

The word ‘vidha’ means kinds. The five senses are of two kinds each. What are the two kinds? The two kinds are: the physical-sense (dravyendriya) and the psychical-sense (bhāvendriya).
