Ucchikalam or Ucchikala puja

The mid-day worship occurs between 10.00 a.m. and 12.00 moon is known as Ucchikala puja. In this puja, padikkattalai (ablution) is held in the sanctum of the God and in the shrine of Goddess. Curd rice is the principal meal offered as neivedya. With this puja, the forenoon pujas get to their end. The temple is kept closed from 12.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.[1]
