Other communities like Chettiyar, Reddiar, Pipe-drummer, Potters, Sudras and other artisans lived in Munnur region. During the medieval period, most of the Tamil communities were distinguished from each other by their professions. For instance record of Rajendra I refer to the provisions of sufficient potteries to the Salai an Educational Institution of Munnjur.
