Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple

Sri Varadaraja Perumal Temple at Lakshminarayanapuram is two miles from the Padalarn railway station can be reached by train and bus. It was built about 700 years ago and renovations were effected about 1900 A. D. There are stone inscriptions in this temple, which covers nearly an acre. The priest performs pooja once a day. Its lands which are under varam cultivation fetch a substantial income from which its expenses are met. There are jewels in the temple. During Panguni Uthiram day and Chithra Pournami day, the deity is taken round in procession on a wooden Palanquin. A Board of three trustees manages the temple.[1]
