Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal Temple

Being situated five miles off Padalam railway station the Malaivaiyavoor village can be reached by bus and train. This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, who is known as Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal and it is built on a hillock covering an area of 80 acres. It was constructed about 1,000 years ago. Two poojas are performed daily. The temple expenses are met out of the income derived from its lands. A sum of amount per annum is got from hundi collection and pooja charges. It has worthy ornaments. Brahmothsavam and Sri Kulasekara Alwar Sathumurai are the main festivals of the temple and they attract a congregation of about 3,000 people from the neighbouring villages. Three trustees look after the routine work of the temple.
