This ancient Siva temple which is 10 miles from the taluk headquarters. The Lingam is not a Swayambu and the temple covers an area of 70 cents. The priest performs poojas twice daily. The temple has ornaments. The income derived from the temple lands is utilized for the expenses. The festivals celebrated are 1. Tamil New Year’s day, Arudhra dharsanam in Margazhi month, Kirthigai in Karthigai month. About 200 local people assemble for the above festivals. A Board of three trustees is in charge of its affairs.[1]
