In the year, following the return of Malik Kafurto Delhi, an enterprising Travancore ruler was found to be in occupation of practically the whole of Chola country. This was Ravivarman Kulasekara, who was born in the year AD 1266-67. In AD 1313-1314, he came to Kancheepuram and celebrated his coronation ceremony on the bank of river Vegavathi, in his fourth year.[1] He called himself as Vegavathinathan or Lord of Vegavathi. He won a victory over Sundara Pandya.[2]
