Political History (2): Satavahanas

In the Deccan, the Maurya Empire was follwed by the rule of the Satavahanas.[1] Their rule in Tondaimandalam was evidenced by the availability of ship-coins of Pulumayi-II in the region between Pennar and Palar, in profusion. R. Gopalan is of the view that the Satavahanas continued to rule Tonadimandalam up to the rise of Karikala Chola who conquered the area from them.[2]
