Vaisnava Temples (2): Rama Temple

The Rama temple, situated near Laksmana temple, at Sirpur, in a very ruined stage is similar in pattern and design with the famous Laksmana temple, though comparatively small in size. The temple has lost its porch, front mall of sanctum and top-half of late; it has been under the process of preservation.

The construction plan of this temple was in the form of a star. The dilapidated brick temple is situated in about 100 meters east of the Laksmana temple and at the north of the Raikera pond. By now, this temple has lost its Mukhasala, (audience chamber) and the front wall of the Garbhagrha. The temple has also lost the top-half. But, the portions of the South, west and the northern walls are on the verge of ruin.
