Scope of Work

This dissertation deals with the Jaina antiquities of Odisha at a glimpse and more elaborately the Jaina relics of thirteen districts of Odisha. The exhaustive filed work is concentrated more on the districts northern and coastal Odisha particularly in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Keonjhar, Khordha, Mayurbhanj and Puri. Although, an earnest effort has also been undertaken to study the Jaina antiquities of western and southern Odisha particularly in Koraput, Bolangir, Boudh and Rayagada districts as it is not possible to make a comprehensive field study on Maoist affected areas. The location and context of the findings, their present status and iconography of the images are described clearly to give authentic information to the scholar along with photo illustration and line drawings.
