Ninny, O Ninny!

Dr. Suresh Chandra Pande

Ninny O Ninny!
Get thee to a nunnery
With a chalice and a staff
Along the seraphic Covenant
Sashed in Golden rule
As thy KARMIC tool.

Ninny O Ninny!
Thou art a pilgrim – a PARIVRAJAKA
Untied Unto the World – the SAMSARA
Languished on SHIVA’S holy trident
Thy native moor’s code reticent
As a drone of memories nascent.

Ninny o Ninny!
Alpine belt of the Himalaya
Sensitive as Seismological Maya
In Neo-tectonic annals aptly dealt
Like Holy Grail’s myth in legends felt.

Ninny O Ninny!
An ardent seeker an aspiring devotee,
Thy SANNY ASA unfolds twofold glory
Negation of all names and forms – NIVRITTI
Reassertion of one absolute reality – PRAVRITTI.

Arise O Ninny arise!
Listen to Life’s fleeting dirge
An angelic carol in lofty verse
To rejoice in soul’s innate upsurge.

Ninny O Ninny!
Soar high into cosmic mansion
Observe dispassion to drain the passion
Cut the node of apparent duality
Shun the antipodes cling to purity.

In earthly sojourn clutched though in KARMAS of fate
Thy sinews could free thee from subhuman bait So Ninny O Ninny!
Put of thy frail vestment and verily rejuvenate:
DEHONAHAM
JIVONAHAM
PRATYAGA BIDNNA ATMAIVAHAM

Ninny O Ninny!
Get thee to a Nunnery
Thy quest is a must So recite just–
BHAJGOVINDAM , BHAJ GOVINDAM
BHAJGOVINDAM O Ninny!
