Towards Enlightenment

Manas Bakshi

Inside the heart
A metaphoric canvas,
The world outside
Developing myriad textures
Exploring strange zones
We ride to survive;

Graffiti on the eolithic stone
Now in a living world’s derelict zone
Standstill forever,
The cactus spreading in tenderness
In a desert beyond trace
Sings about a milestone to eternity–

Come and face
What we live with now
Our world of consciousness
Fragmented to constellate
Moments of reality,

The canvas-sometimes clear, sometimes hazy
With contours from
The fathomless depth
Not of life that’s sure to end
But of life that’s infinite.
