I’d proclaim this moment
“I’m the citizen of the world”
I am a poet and a thinker;
Do I need a passport?
Do VISAS apply to me?
I am for global peace;
a nationalism of humanity.
Let not skin’s color matter.
Let not race be the criterion.
stretch your arms and embrace
unbelievers and believers of
“another” God
But first I must attempt for
an audition from a hundred
youth of my mother land
to dream of a dawn when
no one is blind folded.
