This year’s BOOKER MAN PRIZE is won by Yann Martel, a 27 year old Canadian author for his novel ‘Life of Pi’. The book is based on the story of a south Indian boy and its main theme is “the power of faith which could be religion”. A hungry Bengal tiger figures in the story. In the author’s words “It is a novel which makes you believe in god or ask yourself why you don’t”. His first novel was ‘Self’.
