I was on a stroll....
when I saw bats
clinging to a lifeless wall
sleeping away their twilight hour.
All that happen......
is it that they move
from the lifeless wall
to a living tree?
When the winds overwhelm the tree,
when the leaves fall into
a sacramental scatter
when the tree dances mad
baring the ribs,
they sleep.
They sleep not to forget
but to forsee
and in every sleep
their dreams come true.
And in darkness
when they span the sky
they live, they see.
