Insomnia

Rishi K. Agarwal

there is a pleasure
in the agony of a restless night.
two living stones
rolling down the heap of waste
over the dead and fallen leaves.
trying to settle
yet,
restive to go beyond
to watch the flaccid leaves.

only to grow pale, brown and lifeless.
two stones, dead
lost somewhere among the leaves
pleasure, agony
stones, leaves
at rest, at last.
