Golden Presentation

[These verses in Sanskrit were specially composed for the Golden Jubilee of Triveni by Sri V. H. Subrahmanya Sastri, Retired Principal of the Sanskrit College, Madras]

(Born of Sri Ramakotiswara’s Mind
bent upon pleasing the literati1,
and immersing (with joy) the hearts of aestheticians
the Triveni beams with brilliance.)

(Embellished by the best men of taste
by the graces of the beauty of literature,
unraveling many secrets of history
through (the writings of) hoards of scholars,
interpreting our national arts
that are pleasing and praiseworthy,
this Triveni an unique ornament
of invaluable qualities to the world, reigns supreme.)

(Let this Triveni stream on like the
Triveni 2 of purifying flow on the earth,
and like a banner of our
national culture (in the air))
