Mystery

M. Vathapureeswaran

Only one spark
But revolves fast
Emitting cyclic fire,
Deludes our eyes,
Creates an illusion
Of a Catherine wheel.
The eternal spark
Radiant and all pervasive,
The fleeting wheel
Bright but vanishing;
The mighty ocean
Deep and vast,
The rising waves
Splashing and ebbing;
The harmony of space
Cosmic and boundless,
The pot of clay
Fragile and brittle;
He is a Mystery,
I am a mirage;
Birth is not the beginning
Nor Death the end;
Long is the distance,
Labyrinthine are the ways,
Difficult is the journey,
But sure to realise
Sat, Chit, Ananda.
