It Took, Me Ages

Vinodchandra P. Dave

IT TOOK ME AGES...

It took me ages to realise, who I am,
Who my I is and i who am:
I’d ignored the deadly logic
For the two who were then.

For, ‘was’ was mere an imagination,
(That i knew) would weave broken threads,
Of Past, unveiled in the microscopic eye of Death.

The truth I can diagnose, can only be now
The birth that leaves me on rest to trow,
Above and below, the spectrum of breath
Confuses sorrow with mirth.

But once it flashed, like a poet’s word,
Or a fleeting bird,
And the clouds that mocked the sun
Smiled with a fun,
That knew of the folding dark and keep the flood.

’tis then i realised
The first was the Infinite,
The second my deadly enemy,
The last was mere minute of the first
