The third is comedy entitled Gauridigambaraprahasana, by Sankara Misra, the commentator of the Vaisesika-sutras. It was enacted under the orders of Bhavanatha Misra the father of the author. The drama treats of the marriage of Parvati with Siva. Kavya-A number of new commenteries on well-known Kavyas have been described in this volume. Kumarasambhavatika by Bhagiratha Pitamundi, a Bengali Brahmana of the Radhiya distribution; Kavyadarsa-Tika by Tribhuvanacandra, a pandita belonging to the Jaina religion, on two of the three chapters of the book; Kavyaprakasatika, by Srikrsna Sarma, entitled Rasaprakasa, ends with the fifth chapter; two commentaries on Ghatakarpara by Ramanatha and Devidasa, and two commentaries on Nalodaya, one by Vagis and the other by Ramanarayana Siddhanta, composed in Saka (?) 1635; Padyavali-tika, by a disciple of Damodara Gosvami, who on his turn was a distant disciple of Syamananda Gosvami, who was one of the three leaders of Vaisnavism who ruled the Vaisnava society in the generation succeeding Caitanya. Nandikesvarastavavrtti is a commentary on the Jaina hymn of Nandikesvara, by Jinavallabha Suri. The commentary is by Somagani. Buon Nemicarita is a part of the Trisasti-salaka-purusa-carita by Hemacandra. It belongs to the eighth Parva of that work and treats of the emancipation of Nemi. It is a Jaina work. Mahimnastavatika, by Vacaspati, is a brand new discovery. No. 26 is a commentary on the Mahimnastava by Madhusudana Sarasvati. Srikrsna stotra, No. 310, by Bilvamangala or Lilasuka, has the same commencement as No. 1198 of Raj. Mittra. But the two works appear to differ in various respects.
