Although its colophon states the work as contained in the codex to be complete, it is obvious that it originally discoursed upon the whole range of the Smritis, and the codex comprises only one portion of it-that treating of the lunar days and the religious duties and rites appertaining thereto. Had the work been limited to the lunar days, it would have been named Tithi-chandrika and not Smritichandrika.
