accountant, Rayasakkāra, Gold, Fire, Water and Harikkārās.
These ten members are described as the parts of a male body.
i.e. Head as the king, face as president (Adhykṣa), hands as
courtiers, palms as Dharmaśāstrās, thigh as accountant and
Rāyasakkārās, eyes as gold, fire and water, legs as Harikkārās.

reprimands. The judgment of vyavahāra was to be determined
on the basis of Dharmaśāstra. Gold and fire were provided for
taking oath and water was provided for those who were tired and
thirsty. An accountant was necessary to calculate the amount of
Dravya. The Rāyasakkāra was to write down the answers while
the Harikkāra was to bring in the plaintiff, defendant and
witnesses to the court and provide them with enough food. The
above mentioned were the duties of the ten members of the
court.
Brh. praised the above mentioned court if three or five

or seven Brāhmaṇās having good knowledge in D.S and Vedas
