7.11. Summary of the Bhallaṭaśataka

The Bhallaṭaśataka (Bhallaṭaśatakam) is attributed to the poet Bhallaṭa. Bhallaṭa the distinguished poet belonged to the period of king Śaṅkaravarman (A.D. 883-902) of Kashmir.[1] The work contain 108 verses. It is a collection of Muktaka kind of poem revealing allegorical satire. The work mocks undiscriminating patrons of his time.
