Summary: Critical study of the Kavyamimamsa of Rajasekhara: a poetical encyclopedia from the 9th century written in eighteen chapters, all dealing with Alankara-shastra (the ancient Indian science of rhetoric and poetics). Thus, the Kavya-mimamsa is an educational work for the poet (kavi) containing the science of applied poetics on making literature and poetry (kavya).

This English study of the Kavyamimamsa contains six chapters and also includes an appendix identifying various geographical locations. Original titles: Kāvyamīmāṃsā (काव्यमीमांसा), Kāvya-mīmāṃsā (काव्य-मीमांसा), Rājaśekhara (राजशेखर).
