Analysis of Sannipāta (Commanders-in-chief)

A thirteen member-term of Sannipātas are the first group of the army of Yakṣmā introduced in Act II.

Suiting their characters as commanders, they declare that none can win over Yakṣmā and Pāṇḍu, when the powerful military men of their calibre are around them (II.12ab):

āsmādṛśeṣu balaśāliṣu sainikeṣu rājannalaṃ prabhuparābhavacintayā te |

They give a detailed list of the total divisions of their army team. In the course of their discussion with this entire team, Sannipātas standing by the side of Pāṇḍu assure him about their victory.
