12. Rhetorical comparison
Gitagovinda is composed on the basis of luxurious art (vilasakala). The whole poem is a best example of alliteration. Baladeva has followed this pattern of Jayadeva. The sweetness of the diction and sonorous word composition is a major reason of the popularity of Gitagovinda Baladeva used the anuprasa and the upamalamkara in his Sanskrit composition, but those compositions though prove the intellect of the poet still not found attractive for general reader like the Gitagovinda In the Odia songs his composition is still unique and regarded as a master piece. 75. vedanuddharate jagannivahate ...
