PART II 1502 The verse 'pathi smasane' and the line 'tatha caivotkale dese' on P. 572 are not found. Four lines from 'deham tyajanti' on P. 572 resemble Br. 68, 75-77. Besides the above works, there are others which quote the Brahma Purana Due to limitation of time, the writer has not been able to make a thorough study of these verses and therefore a list of traceable and untraceable verses cannot be provided. But here a list of quoted verses is given for helping further investigations, though from a rough survey it can be said that the verses of the Brahma Purana quoted by Krtyakalpataru are not found in the present Brahma Purana whereas some of the verses quoted by the Mayukhas of Nilakanthabhatta are found in the present Brahma Purana However, the whole subject should be fully dealt with while discussing the problem of the reconstruction of the Brahma Purana In the following tables, under the head of the title of the work quoting the Brahma Purana, the no. of verses of Brahma Purana, the page no. on which they are quoted and the subject matter of these verses are given.:-
