Treatment of Bhagandara (fistula in the anus)

In Atharvaveda Bhagandara or fistula in the anus is boil or Nāsura. Atharvaveda speaks about the treatment of this disease. Aṣṭāṅga Hṛdaya says, if you ride, elephant, horse etc., if you perform painful and severe asana, on forcefully controlling the pressure of excretion, excessively passionate sex, you can have this disease[1]. For fistula patients, it is very important to have a cleansed stomach. In the Atharvaveda, the following medicine is beneficial for fistula like Arka, and Srekaparṇa etc.
