Chapter 3.10 - The story of Nala (Monkey characters, part 4)

Nala is considered to be the son of Vishvakarma. To get Sita back from Lanka, Rama and the monkey army reached the seashore and then they realised the need for building a bridge across the ocean. Varuna then appeared there and told Rama that Nala n, the son of Vishvakarma, was equally skilled like his father in building bridge. Varuna asked Rama to start building the bridge under the supervision of Nala. Accordingly under the leadership of Nala, “Ramasetu” was built and thus Rama and his monkey army were able to get across into Lanka.[1] It is also said that Nala also fought in the battle that ensued and he faced the monster or giant called Tundaka.[2]
