tam arthayante 'khila-puruṣārthās
tam ardayante tri-vidhā na tāpāḥ
Štam āśrayante 'khila-tattva-bodhāḥ
sadā yam ānandayatīśa-bhaktiḥ—
tam—to him; arthayante—appeal; akhila—all; purusa-arthāḥ—the four goals of human pursuit (religion, sense-gratification, economic development, and liberation); tam—him; ardayante—torment; tri-vidhaḥ—three-fold; na—not; tāpāḥ—miseries of material existence; tam—of him; asrayante—take shelter; akhila—all; tattva—of spiritual truths; bodhaḥ—the understandings; sadā—always; yam—whom; ānandayanti—delights; īśa—of the Supreme Personality of Godhead; bhaktiḥ—devotional service;
Perception of spiritual truth takes shelter of one whocontinually delights in the Lord's devotional service. The three-fold material miseries do not torment him, and the goals of human endeavor (religion, sense gratification, economic-development, and liberation) beg to be engaged in his service.
