The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.214.22

ईदृश्यां दृश्यमानायां दृशि दोषदशाशतैः ।
काष्ठवद्दह्यते लोकः स्वदुर्भगतया तया ॥ २२ ॥

īdṛśyāṃ dṛśyamānāyāṃ dṛśi doṣadaśāśataiḥ |
kāṣṭhavaddahyate lokaḥ svadurbhagatayā tayā || 22 ||

It is strange that in disregard of this heavenly bright and vivid light, that men should be entangled in a thousand errors, and be burnt at last as dried wood or fuel, by their foul mistake and great misfortune.
