The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

यथेन्दुत्वं स्वसंकल्पात्सर्वध्यातुः पृथक्पृथक् ।
भात्येवमेव वनितालाभः काल्पनिकः स्वतः ॥ ८ ॥

yathendutvaṃ svasaṃkalpātsarvadhyātuḥ pṛthakpṛthak |
bhātyevameva vanitālābhaḥ kālpanikaḥ svataḥ || 8 ||

As every aspirer to the state of the full moon, came to be such in his respective conception of that luminary; so the suitors of the same bride in marriage, became wedded to her according to his own conception of hers.
