The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.210.1

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
फले क्षयेन्दुभारूपे प्राप्ते ध्यातृशतैर्नभः ।
यथा न शतपूर्णेन्दु तथेदं कथनं श्रृणु ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
phale kṣayendubhārūpe prāpte dhyātṛśatairnabhaḥ |
yathā na śatapūrṇendu tathedaṃ kathanaṃ śrṛṇu || 1 ||

Vasishtha resumed and said:—Now hear me tell you in reply to the question, why the heaven is not filled with a hundred full moons, if it were the wish of a hundred persons to shine as such a luminary on future, and if the wishes of all are crowned with success in their next state of being.
