The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

कचनाकचने यस्य स्वभावो निर्मलोऽक्षयः ।
यथैतावात्मनो नान्यौ स्पन्दास्पन्दौ नभस्वतः ॥ २३ ॥

kacanākacane yasya svabhāvo nirmalo'kṣayaḥ |
yathaitāvātmano nānyau spandāspandau nabhasvataḥ || 23 ||

The emission and intromission of its reflection, are as natural to the ignorant and imperfect living soul of animal beings; as oscillation and calm are congenital with air.
