The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

ईदृक्स्वभावा संवित्तिस्तया देहो विभाव्यते ।
एक एव स्वरूपेण तस्यास्ते न च तद्विदा ॥ ४ ॥

īdṛksvabhāvā saṃvittistayā deho vibhāvyate |
eka eva svarūpeṇa tasyāste na ca tadvidā || 4 ||

Such is the nature of this consciousness, that it is thought to be one and same with the bodiless soul, by every one who knows what it is.
