The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तत्रास्तीलावती नाम हैमी पूर्वोत्तरे पुरी ।
दीप्तिज्वालामयस्तम्भप्रोतावनिनभस्तला ॥ ४ ॥

tatrāstīlāvatī nāma haimī pūrvottare purī |
dīptijvālāmayastambhaprotāvaninabhastalā || 4 ||

There is the city called Ilavati, situated on its north eastern side, and is beset by a colonnade of pillars, gilded all over with gold, and glittering with radiant beams, reaching from earth to the skies.
