The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

इदं मे भगवन्ब्रूहि महाप्रश्नमनुत्तमम् ।
कथं भवत्यदेहा चिज्जाग्रत्स्वप्न स्वदेहवत् ॥ २ ॥

idaṃ me bhagavanbrūhi mahāpraśnamanuttamam |
kathaṃ bhavatyadehā cijjāgratsvapna svadehavat || 2 ||

But tell me sir, in answer to this important question of mine; how the formless and bodiless intellect appears to become embodied in all these various forms of bodies, that we see in the state of our waking dream.
