The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

क्वाप्यज्ञानरवौ याते प्रतापाद्याकरे भृशम् ।
संसारसत्तादिवसो यात्यस्तं स निशागमः ॥ ८ ॥

kvāpyajñānaravau yāte pratāpādyākare bhṛśam |
saṃsārasattādivaso yātyastaṃ sa niśāgamaḥ || 8 ||

The existence of the world, together with all our miseries in it, before the light of our liberation; as the darkness of night flies away at sunrise, and the light of the day disappears, before the gloom of night.
