The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

तस्माद्द्रष्टास्ति नो दृश्यं नैवास्तीदमनामयम् ।
चित्प्रभैवात्मना भित्तिर्भवत्याभासनं तथा ॥ ७ ॥

tasmāddraṣṭāsti no dṛśyaṃ naivāstīdamanāmayam |
citprabhaivātmanā bhittirbhavatyābhāsanaṃ tathā || 7 ||

Thus it is an immaterial and imperishable entity, without any appearance of or looker on it; it shines with the light of the intellect, upon the basis or stand of the Divine spirit.
