The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

श्रीवसिष्ठ उवाच ।
पूर्वापरपरामर्शात्पिण्डतार्थेषु शाम्यति ।
स्वप्नेऽप्येवं स्थिते स्थूला भावना विनिवर्तते ॥ ५५ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
pūrvāparaparāmarśātpiṇḍatārtheṣu śāmyati |
svapne'pyevaṃ sthite sthūlā bhāvanā vinivartate || 55 ||

Vasishtha replied:—It is the due consideration of the antecedent and subsequent states of things, which must remove the erroneous impression of their reality; just as the conception of the substantiality of sights seen in our dreams, is eliminated upon reflection of their subsequent disappearance.
