ज्ञानस्य ज्ञेयतापत्तिर्बन्ध इत्यभिधीयते ।
तस्यैव ज्ञेयताशान्तिर्मोक्ष इत्यभिधीयते ॥ १ ॥

śrīvasiṣṭha uvāca |
jñānasya jñeyatāpattirbandha ityabhidhīyate |
tasyaiva jñeyatāśāntirmokṣa ityabhidhīyate || 1 ||

Vasishtha continued:—Gaining the knowledge of knowables, is called our bondage in this world; but it is our release from the bonds of knowable objects, that is termed our liberation from it.
