The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

अनिरावरणज्ञप्तेर्यतः शान्ता न भेदधीः ।
ततः संकल्पनाद्वैताद्वराद्यस्य न सिद्ध्यति ॥ ५९ ॥

anirāvaraṇajñapteryataḥ śāntā na bhedadhīḥ |
tataḥ saṃkalpanādvaitādvarādyasya na siddhyati || 59 ||

The unenlightened understanding, being never freed from its knowledge of particulars and their mutual differences: It is impossible for it to generalize good and evil, under the head of universal good.
