The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

प्रलयस्थितिसर्गादि दृश्यमानं न विद्यते ।
एतन्न चात्मनश्चान्यच्चित्रे चित्रवधूर्यथा ॥ २४ ॥

pralayasthitisargādi dṛśyamānaṃ na vidyate |
etanna cātmanaścānyaccitre citravadhūryathā || 24 ||

There is no reality in the nature of the visible creation, or in its existence or dissolution; all these are no other than representations shown in the spirit of God, like figures described in a picture.
