The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

स्वयं दृश्यं स्वयं द्रष्टृ स्वयं चित्त्वं स्वयं जडम् ।
स्वयं किंचिन्न किंचिच्च ब्रह्मात्मन्येव संस्थितम् ॥ ९ ॥
svayaṃ dṛśyaṃ svayaṃ draṣṭṛ svayaṃ cittvaṃ svayaṃ jaḍam |
svayaṃ kiṃcinna kiṃcicca brahmātmanyeva saṃsthitam || 9 ||
Wherever there is anything in any state or condition in any part of the world, there you will find the presence of the divine spirit in its form of vacuity; and this without changing its nature of calm serenity, assumes to itself whatever form or figure it likes.
