The Sanskrit edition of the Yoga-vasistha including English translation and grammatical analysis. The Yogavasistha is a Hindu spiritual text written by Valmiki (who also authored the Ramayana) dealing with the philosophical topics from the Advaita-vedanta school. Chronologically it precedes the Ramayana.

Verse 7.184.23

एकस्यामेव निद्रायां सुषुप्तस्वप्नविभ्रमाः ।
यदा भान्त्यविचित्रायां चित्रा इव निरन्तराः ॥ २३ ॥

ekasyāmeva nidrāyāṃ suṣuptasvapnavibhramāḥ |
yadā bhāntyavicitrāyāṃ citrā iva nirantarāḥ || 23 ||

It is the one and invariable soul, that rests always in its state of rest and sleep, and perceives the succession of creation and destruction of the world, in its alternate states of dream and sound sleep, which present themselves as two pictures before its sight.
